Thanks for all your comments! I am adding a few more photos to show the whole space we have to work with. It's a large area, approx 100square metres. The opposite end to the kitchen will have large dining table near the bifolds and the other side will be sofa/tv area. We're happy to keep the rest white and brighten it up with pictures and stuff, I just think a colour behind the units would look better than white. We've looked at Farrow&Balls Elephants breath and Green Blue since I've last been on here. Bearing in mind what we choose may dictate furniture choices for the other end.

Thank you all for your comments! I think for the moment, I will leave the wall tile-less, and in time maybe look at adding a glass splashback. Orla Conneely: the walls actually haven't been painted (properly!) yet - the walls are just a basic woodies white matt paint :-) I'm not sure where you're based, but I've got really good colour advice from Colortrend, so would definitely call into them, and they will be able to advise on a colour Amandajoyking: the room is approx 4m x 5m if I remember correctly DB413 - I like your colour suggestions -I had been thinking of teal/purple myself, I will investigate this further for fabrics for the corner chairs Nicky: the work tops are silestone 'Stellar snow' - it has quite a bit of sparkle, but doesn't dominate, and it definitely lifts the room - I'm definitely glad that I went for something with a sparkle. The floor tiles were sourced from a small independent local retailer, so I can't provide further details on this I'm afraid!

The first thing that occurs to me is why not paint the cooker wall Proud Peacock so that the splashback, cooker, extractor and wall cupboards all blend in? This will also provide you with something to work off when selecting the neural? If you paint that wall a pale tone it will look quite busy.

That looks nice , need colour to tone with curtains and blind tho as I still like my curtains , I’m thinking green now , you helped me with my lounge colour earlier this year , that was green chimney breast , love green like you , thinking maybe doing one wall green where cabinets are and maybe rest of walls light cream , not magnolia , hate it ,😂 think now sitting looking at it a soft saggy green maybe , it’s finding the right colour
