Render colour!
We’ve had an extension at the back of our house and now need to render to cover up all the mismatching block work etc.
- The bricks of our house are yellow as per the photo.
- The roof tiles are red.
- The doors of the extension are dark grey. No other windows downstairs.
The question is, what colour render?! I quite like light grey render as seems neutral, modern and will look nice with the dark grey doors.
My husband is worried too much of a contrast and we already have too much going on with yellow bricks, red tiles, grey doors etc.
He thinks perhaps a more yellow colour to blend better with the bricks, such as Weber Buff. I’m not sure though..
Has anyone had this dilemma? I’m struggling to find pictures online.

Comments (0)We’ve just had our extension rendered. I told the plasterer we’d like it in white, he said we didn’t want white as it gets very dirty really easily and we’d always be cleaning it. He suggested we go for ‘chalk white’ and that it would still look white... we said ok, we’d not seen a sample (our mistake). Well, it doesn’t look white, it definitely looks creamy, more of a dirty white and I don’t like it. is there anything that can be done, can they re-render over the top or need to start again?
