Hi all! As you can see, our house is a jumble of styles due to a multitude of alterations and extensions over the years. The rendered part is a 17th century cottage, the stone side is an early Victorian addition, porch and dormer were installed by previous owners some years ago.
We need to replace the roof and I’ve been thinking of taking advantage of the scaffolding to repaint or somehow do something to make the place look less disjointed.
We are going to take down the plastic covering (and replace the decking, but that’s a different project), however my husband refuses to even discuss about redoing the porch or those ugly dormer windows.
I feel really lost about what can be done to unify the look, short of chipping off the render to expose the stone underneath, which is apparently not an option, according to my husband. I would appreciate any ideas no matter how wild, as I am truly clueless about this one.
