Quartz kitchen worktop help please!

Hi, I love the look of Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo but I think it's out of my price bracket. Does anyone have suggestions for something similar? I also love this one (from here: https://www.mayfairgranite.co.uk/shop/quartz-worktops/product/river-white.html) but have sadly paid a deposit to another company and I can't find anything similar in their ranges

Mirostone Taj Mahal solid surface. It has to be fabricated just like quartz and granite so not something you can fit yourself as it has to be done by qualified tradespersons. It is more or less identical to that. It’s currently out of stock and accordingly to my supplier and swimming it’s way over on a container due to arrive in the UK some time in October.

agree with comment above - call Cosentino and they can direct you either to a local kitchen showroom with worktop installed in a colour you are considering or they can tell you where you can view the slabs. i live in Ireland and visited the Cosentino warehouse in Dublin to view slabs - it certainly affected our decision making. we went for lagoon and its great - no problem with staining

Thank you everybody for all your help and comments. I did choose a worktop through Wren but decided to buy it elsewhere due to cost and have now changed my mind. Ribena and Jonathan, you do make interesting comments though. The designer seemed to quite proficiently push boxes around on a kitchen grid layout but apart from what was on display, didn’t have a lot of ‘creative’ design suggestions on colour matching. If it wasn’t on display or in the brochure...........???? Anyone else about to embark on a new kitchen might want to consider who they use

I'd suggest you find a local stonemason that supplies quartz worktops, they can fabricate a 30mm quartz so its 38mm thick for you quite easily. If you ever see extra thick granite or quartz worktops in showrooms etc its been packed out with mdf underneath and a front edge has been fitted and the joint line is polished out so its not seen.

Its hard to tell because of the shadow that the upstand is casting. There should be more quartz at the back to allow for the tap. Mine is in the middle between the upstand and the sink. The quartz running past at the front is narrower. The tap is too close to the upstand. Was the quartz templated properly? Undermount sinks are normally fixed with their lip resting on a batten frame. Was this slightly off centre? It's not correct. I wouldn't accept this, its an expensive mistake.

CRL is a nice budget quartz manufacturer and have some options that might suit you. Expensive slabs are white with large format print so if you can find something with the right colours but with a smaller pattern, that will be less expensive. You're still looking around £3.5-5K though.
