Please can someone help me with a tried and tested solution for removing water marks from my black quartz kitchen worktops. I've tried Method Daily Granite Cleaner and Lakeland Worktop Wonder, both of these products buff the granite up to a shine, but they don't actually remove the marks.

I'd keep the worktops as pale as possiible, quartz is a good choice, maybe with a little silver or grey fleck. Adding another colour with regards tiles is going to be difficult as you've already got a strong accent colour with the red appliances. Adding yet another on top may be a mistake. Maybe you could go for a red glass splashback and upstands? Or, red metro tiles with grey grout? Dark Grey metro tiles would look very classy. I personally think that the same rule applies as for decorating walls etc. Plain is best and use accessories to add colour. When you get bored with the colour combo you can very easily change accessories for a whole new look. Remember you'll be looking at the kitchen for possibly 10 years, will you always love grey and red? If you stick to the pale grey / dark grey and ivory pallette, then you can change the kettle, toaster, cannisters as many times as you like from red, to turquoise, back to ivory, green etc, but once you put tiles on the wall it's a lot more expensive to change when you've gone off the colour. I only tiled my kitchen around 4 years ago and i'm sick of looking at it already, and i positively hate my black granite worktops.

Your choice of kitchen looks great. I like the worktop you've chosen but think that a whitish worktop would contrast nicely on the grey but also match the colour of the wall cabinets. There are plenty of whites with a bit of sparkle which would go nicely. Good luck and I expect it will look amazing whatever you choose.

I agree with Colourhappy. You've only got a few pictures in indeabooks and not one of kitchens so it's hard to advise in terms of tiles other than metro but as Colourhappy said you will find a metro that one works. I like zeolite tiles which give the appearance of texture, which I think is great in a kitchen, and the glaze gives them a shimmer but there are so many tiles available. You could of course just continue the worktop for upstands and a splashback behind the hob which many people do and it looks really effective. What's going on the floor? Which way does the room face in terms of paint?
