Which Kitchen Layout - Help!

Planning permission in for an extension. 2 adults 2 teenagers. All services are on the bottom wall so want to keep most/all services there.
It's basically a 6x6m room with 8 square meters cut out for the WC and utility. So 30 square meters.
Top wall is party wall/boundary so no good for extraction/plumbing.
Got a few ideas. The default provided by the architect is just a U shaped kitchen with 2m gap between the units in the U. This is probably very functional but the kitchen would make up just 8m of a 30m space so it's more like a kitchen on the side of a room. I was hoping the kitchen could be more than that so was obviously thinking of an island but that doesn't seem to work so well when you have a U shape with 2m gap in the U.
Conscious also that blocking the view to the garden through the 2m sliding doors could be a regret if we did plonk a big island with stools there. Maybe forcing the island is a bad idea and just putting our 2m dining table with 4 or 6 chairs parallel to the sliding doors with a metre or more of circulation is the easy win - less is more.
I think I would only want 2 stools at an island anyway, my wife and I prefer to sit at the dining table and we are not hosting guests much but an island could be good for workspace plus lots of good storage.
Will have Building regs drawings next so will need to decide on some things like plumbing and electrics which will be influenced by the kitchen design.
Have. alook at some of the attached ideas and let me know if you think there is a clear winner and feels free to let me know if there is a better plan out there.
