What do I do with this space?
Comments (4)How deep are the recesses? I don't think that they need to match, especially when you put in free standing wardrobes. Here's two we took apart and made to fit in to our recesses. We splayed the sides out, brought the wardrobe fronts forward and made extra deep wardrobes. They were Art Nouveau, his and hers wardrobes, so were not identical to start with. From the wardrobe front to the back of the recess is about a metre. Lots of storage....See Morewhat to do with this unused space?
Comments (6)I had a very deep space wand put 2 rails at rear and then 2 rails at front to create wardrobe. I struggled to access back day to day so clothes at back never got worn (i had way too many clothes!) Could you have something simple like keeping rear for storing things that may usually be kept in loft (eg suitcases, Xmas stuff) but then put a rail in front for hanging clothes which would then hide this. Not exciting but may be practical? And easy to change if another option is found....See MoreBedroom Wardrobes - What to do with with space above?

Anyone who visits your house will just see nice fitted wardrobes....See MoreWhat can I do with the empty space above the TV?

We’ve got so used to assuming a ‘tv unit’ is the only furniture we can mount a tv on we’ve forgotten there are other options. I’ve a wall mounted tv on a false chimney breast and the wires feed behind it to an Ikea Besta cupboard with a glass front to which I added some obscuring film so we don’t have to look at the ugly add-ons like the games console and the Sky box, whereas in my last home I could feed all the wires through the metal stud wall and wall mount everything...See More- 5 years ago
