Bedroom layout ideas

I have an odd-shaped bedroom due to the location of doors, the image shows the dimensions of the room and the furniture I would like to keep. All furniture is free-standing and can be re-arranged. Ideally, I would like 2 bedside tables. The dresser shown outside the bedroom plan is optional, I can keep or remove this item. What are your thoughts on how to make best use of the space?

Any ideas? I’m decorating the room today and removing the furniture. It’s the ideal chance to rearrange the items when they come back into the room.

I think at a bare minimum I need to lose my current bedside table and replace it with 2 slimmer tables. I just need to make sure there is enough space to walk around the bed as the column radiator has a 6cm width and a width of 15cm away from the window wall.

So, a long and thin room! Some tips for making it appear wider is to paint the two short walls a dark colour to create an illusion of width! Horizontal stripes can also help, whether it's on the carpet or curtains/blinds. Lighter floor surfaces will help make it appear wider too. Hope this helps! Good luck

Just a thought, what about putting the bed against the wall of the walk in wardrobe and you can still have your headboard, no need to change or move a radiator and the wife's side of the bed would be next to the wardrobe entrance. It's all a bit cramped by the looks of things and while you'll have your ensuite and your walkin wardrobe you'll still be walking into a box room. Another thought I had to to lose the bedside cabinets and increase the appearance of space would be in to have the bed side lights on the partition wall and the storage built into the stud wall with pull out shelves for those breakfast in bed moments and cups of tea. Change the door to open onto your landing as well!!! Good luck

I would also put the "wardrobe" there. You can still use the rail and at that height it should be long enough for most clothes but either close it off with a door or a curtain (the curtain will make it feel more spacious if she's does happen to be tidy so can keep it part open! I would also put the bed along the length of the 244 wall. I'd go for a daybed with trundle so she has seating for friends, this one is quite good as you can still see a bit of the floor beneath. desk under window with chest of drawers on opposite wall with a mirror over the top. If you want the room to feel bigger, don't choose furniture which has a lot of contrast to the walls. A ghost chair may be good for the desk

Don’t have dimensions but the en suite looks larger than it needs to be. I would move the wall between bedroom and en suite back a few feet then you could have wardrobe storage space along the bedroom side of the new stud wall. As building a new stud wall you could have a pocket door and I would put the bed and bedside tables as in the diagram above facing the window. In the ensuite I would make the shower as wide as possible stretching between the new stud wall and the exterior window wall and put the toilet and basin side-by-side along the window wall
