Storage cupboard help

Hello everyone, which modifications would you suggest so that I can get more out of this cupboard? I feel there is too much wasted space.... Just need to bear in mind we need to keep our tall brooms etc in this cupboard.

A rod and ikea Skubb or similar organiser. Perhaps one extra shelf, so you don't need to pull out all the smaller stuff to get to the large box. Two hooks on the side to hang the drying rack on.

Hello hasmuk,

Take things off the floor. A shelf to put the smaller things on. The shelf can be horizontal or boxed like rinked pic or solid. That can be attached to the side of the cupboard so you still have the height you need for brooms etc. You can get broom, mop holders. like pic. They come in different sizes with different bits. From your local DIY stores... and also separately terry clips.

The inside of the door can also have hooks or screw on a box for the annoying little things that seem to get lost. Or this can be put on the shelf.

The laundry rack can be placed on U shaped hooks, If the door is wide enough placed on it.

I might be wrong but I've used Jali once a few years ago and mine was mdf as i recall it was a nightmare to paint! I also thought mdf was more stable than wood? TBH your quote sounds really good, as long as it's constructed properly I can't see it being an issue, I'd speak to your carpenter about any concerns. can you not build a stud frame for the chimney breast and use dry lining instead of mdf (although someone told me a while ago you'd never know it was mdf, whether that's true I don't know!)

Its sounds big enough to fit a slim/tall chest of drawers which would then give you a surface to put baskets and boxes for smaller items. ikea do 80w by 100h drawers or you might find a plne second hand set to paint too…. painting it pink gets my vote.
