Should I keep the kitchen window?
Comments (9)The first picture is from the window end looking down to the back window which will become a bifold door. The second is looking towards the window we're considering bricking up & we've put plaster boards up to block it off to help us decide. The next two pictures are the design if we keep the window but the idea of doing away with the window would mean we could have those tall units all along that window wall and then leave the wall to the right as you're facing it free from units. I would still have a view of outside into our small rear back garden where the bofold doors will be. Appearance from outside at the front without a window would be ok. Comments (17)Hello jodg, I see well that's not quite what I had in mind : ) ) ... perhaps consider the closet idea for your bedroom... Regarding the shower screen...possibly an overhead curtain rail as opposed to a glass screen... It negates the need for a wall to fix the glass sheet to.. Or and this one requires more plumbing.. move the loo... in order to leave a smaller bath at that end of the bathroom.. If not then you can enclose the stairs and then fix the shower screen to the "wall" and keep bath at that end and loo and sink at the other end.. possibly losing the storage element under the stairs, which isn't ideal for what you want but it's possible you could create both.. if not smaller storage... : ))...See Morewhich way should internal doors open?
Comments (12)Minnie - I was going to leave about 3’ or so behind the sofa - so bit wider than the door so it doesn’t feel too cramped. Matt - I know rules for rooms of door opening in is best for bedrooms (so you don’t see the bed straight away in case people are naked, ha ha) but wasn’t sure what’s best for this room....See MoreInternal Doors & Windows Decisions Decisions!
Comments (11)I’m with the keepers! I think you might end up devaluing your house if you took out all the original features such as the doors, latches etc. I think you need to experiment with some colours for the walls and look at replacing the carpet which is a bit of a cold grey colour. Also have you looked into the history of the house as I don’t think the leaded lights look like original arts and crafts style to me!...See More- 5 years ago
