Small bathroom and small ensuite or large bathroom?
Comments (3)From what your describing we had the same thing going on,I didn't like the ensuite( too small) and the bathroom needed to be bigger,so we got rid of the ensuite and put a door between our bedroom and bathroom like a jack and Jill. After a while I felt it just didn't work so we closed up the wall and we now have one big bathroom.im glad we did it now. I too wondered if it would devalue the house and I'm sure if a larger family moved in it could be a bit of a problem, maybe someone from the real estate world will pop in and give you some advice. Good luck with whatever way you choose to go....See MoreSmall bathroom renovation...do we have the correct design!?
Comments (15)I have my washing machine in a cupboard in my bathroom and in your new proposed plan I don’t think you’ll potentially have enough space to comfortably load the washing machine front on without banging yourself on the sink. The original position of the cupboard I think is better (I have mine in a similar position in relation to bathroom door etc) also which way is your washing machine door hinged? If it’s hinged on the left like mine you’ll have even less room to load in the new proposed position. Try to hinge the cupboard door the same side as the washing machine too. Jonathan’s plan looks like a good plan to me and I’d have proposed similar :)...See MoreMove bathroom upstairs and extend kitchen - proposed layout and costs
Comments (19)I'd go for option 5 for upstairs as you can make the attic room into a bedroom further down the line. I wouldn't want a windowless bathroom and it'd be easier to run plumbing directly over the former bathroom. Honestly speaking, £11k is not going to cover the upstairs bathroom and kitchen unless you're very handy and are going to do most if this yourself. Even then a new kitchen will blow that budget. I would do the upstairs bathroom and use whatever you have left to rip out the old bathroom suite, lay some lino and have a WC / utility room with the hopes of a bigger renovation of the kitchen/dining/lean-to space further down the line....See MoreIdeas for main bathroom please!
Comments (8)In keeping with 'budget', maybe the floor and vanity are your key areas. The toilet looks in good nick, no garish color!, and changing it out might just add to budget woes. The tiling looks good, just all a bit too glossy, so wood in the vanity would break it up. Am thinking the warmth needs to be in accessories - under the mirror looks like a good spot for a wooden chair or stool. That might be enough for now, too much more might get too busy. Your floor could go for more pattern, and any color could be in towels, from the pic above you would have wood vanity but could have the charcoal in floor and towels......See MoreAmber Jeavons Ltd
