My sister has recently refurbished her house which is very similar to yours. She decided on a nice wide step at the front door, finished in a shiny porcelain tile in a granite effect. It looks lovely. For the drive she had has had a resin gravel laid which looks very smart. She left a flower border to one side to soften the look. I don’t think you need to match the front and back areas. I don’t have a pic but this gives you the idea.

All I would say is make sure the steps are well sized and not too small.

We too looked at a resin drive which we loved the look of but they are expensive. Needless to say the block paving is staying.

With that much space to work with I would commission an architect or garden designer to design something whereby you could incorporate some planting within the step structure to add interest and make the house feel more grounded.

It's a lovely house. I've no input on colours etc but would you consider not having steps at the front door; making gently sloped access accessible to everyone? You never know when someone less able for steps might visit (or indeed live there).
