tiling question! matched tile?

We're doing a total ground floor renovation on a late Victorian townhouse in London and I'm attracted to the idea of using tile in the entry hallway - maybe something light and/or colourful to lighten up the space, which will be dark. I also want to tile the walkway up to the house at some point in the future (when we have recovered financially from the renovation!) Thinking ahead, should the tiles match? I like traditional Victorian encaustic tiles for the outside (e.g the Lambeth pattern in beiges and blues), but I was thinking of something more modern/maybe in gray and white for the hallway. Should they match?

Personally, I'd go for something identical to the wall tiles - just a plain tile, as the floor tile you chose is very strong visually on a large scale. Hi, here are a couple of mixed countertops examples. I like your floor. See if you can take the cabinets all the way up to the ceiling. Looks better, gives more storage space (even if you can only reach it using a stepladder). The floor doesn't limit you on the cabinet colours. See if you can take door samples home and hold them on the floor (vertically, so it shows the colour as it would be when installed). Do the same with countertop samples. Put them all together and make your choice. Or post photos and ask opinions here, if you can't make a choice at all :-) A light countertop will reflect more light, make the kitchen seem brighter. You can mix that with a dark wood. I will see if I can find one of the pro houzzers to look at your dilemma, so they can give you answers to the more technical questions. The chances of finding tiles this size is very slim, unless you find someone who resells old tiles. I would suggest using a mosaic like Daisy has said above, or at least something that is a completely different size.
