Renovating Furniture Design Dilemma

Hi, can anyone recommend any free, easy to use apps where you can design the lay out of a room please?

I’ve recently bought my first house, measured up a few bits but it would be really helpful if I could visual things on an app and have a play around.

Go with pencil, paper and ruler, it is quite liberating! I have just drawn out multiple plans for various extension options and ended up with a completely different layout to my first attempt. The architect I used loaded in CAD and turned around plans suitable to submit for planning permission in record time as a result....
