this house is on houzz and i would like a similar look flooring of wooden/laminate flooring. thank in advance

I’m at my desk in the family room and my husband has set up office in the dining room. Teenage son is studying in his bedroom and daughter is home schooling between my husband and I - depending on who has meetings etc and is most available to help. She’s using an ottoman for a desk with footstool to sit on when with me and is at the opposite end of the dining room table when she’s with her dad. My top tip is to clear all work/study/school stuff away at the end of every day to give us our home back again. I put my laptop etc into my rucksack and stash that away in the cupboard and my husband and daughter have a drawer each that I cleared out in the dining room sideboard at the start of lockdown, for all their school and work stuff. When I’m finished working, I open the windows to let all the work vibes out, light a lovely smelling candle and I’m home.

Hi Adam, I think you've got two options but I think moving the toilet when you've got neighbours is going to be painful so I'd try and keep it in place as much as possible. Option 1. I like Marks suggestion of swapping the reception and bed 1. Keep the bathroom and knock through up to the fireplace (also could cause headaches in a flat). This would mean you could run the kitchen around the walls to the stairs. You could also move the bathroom door to bed 1 to stop the kitchen being a thoroughfare. Option 2 Jonathans idea ish of keeping the bathroom, kitchen becomes utility/store and you make the existing reception your new kitchen, diner, sitting. This is a similar size to my living space and it fits really nicely for a 2 bed. This has multiple benefits of having the room separated from the bedrooms for sound reasons, also looks like there is a pretty window out. But had to give them a light rub down, the wax, rub down again. It will never put the boards back to pre-scratch sorry to say. But yours looks a lot more forgiving on light boards (vs o it dark boards!)
