Kitchen knock through

Hi,

i need some help designing the layout of a new open plan kitchen living space. Looking to take two supporting walls out but struggling with the layout. Any help would be great.

Which supporting walls are you going to remove? What layout have you thought about? Are you opening up the back of the house for garden access? Can plumbing be re routed easily? Are you on a tight budget?

Hi I'm only finding this forum now there's some great and interesting details .my house is semi detached 2 story and my kitchen part jutts out and I'd love to square it off and was wondering about using a lot of glass .1 would it be very cold ? 2 expensive.im on a tight budget.its north facing. Any ideas would be grateful.thanks.

Part 1: When we bought our house in 2012 we dreamt of knocking down the wall between the existing kitchen & dining room to create a modern living area that is still practical. We have just completed the project which included knocking down the wall, blocking in the back door & door from kitchen to garage/utility plus making a new door through to garage/utility using a cupboard in our hall - we are delighted with the results -what do you think? We've yet to get a splashback, blinds & are awaiting a nice glass door.

Very nice job. We are in the process of updating our kitchen (in our bungalow) and knocking through to the bedroom behind to create a dining area. your design looks very similar to what we may finally decide on. How wide is your kitchen?

The main thing that stands out to me is the shower intruding into the living space. Is it already in place? If not it needs to be moved opposite the toilet with the basin moved along the wall to accomodate. I'm not convinced there is enough space. Your top plan shows two toilets. Could those two small rooms next to the lean-to be reconfigured for a utility with a new access door from the kitchen? I am assuming the lean-to is remaining.
