Hi Marie here, Yes, the carpet looks like tone on tone because they have sculpted a simple pile carpet with shapes. This has a swirl pattern to it. It is made locally - but I am positive your local carpet supplier would have something like this its called "3071 Tapestry Tapis Richmond Carpet Chromolon-Velour." Comes in many different "earthy" shades. I call the colours earthy because it has warm undertones to all the shades. I think you would enjoy that the most. Regarding red in your space - I'd add applique (or wainscotting) to keep your room from getting too dark - painting above the wainscotting your red that would be pulled out of toss cushions fabric to accent and pull the room together. The two photos attached first one is more funky and fun. See how they have a very dark carpet, but they've added an area rug to the carpet to bring in pattern - fun way to add texture. Or, a more traditional setting with a beige carpet. See how the wainscotting in both rooms adds light, keeping it bright. I also love dytectures reference to your radiator cover - if you can, add more of a ledge so you can perch a nice vase of flowers, or photos of family, the one above is pretty narrow and would be best used for tight spaces. You are very lucky - beautiful hallway! I wouldn't bother with the wainscotting - there is enough going on and you can still do the contrast below the chair rail with different colour paint. I see you have quite a few samples on the walls....I would do the trim, balusters/spindles, and door in the same colour as the white/cream in the floor tile. The other colour or colours on the wall should highlight the beautiful interior doors, the floor and the stained glass (and paint the radiator(s) the same colour as the wall behind it). For inspiration, I haven't found anything very helpful on Houzz yet, but if you go to the Farrow and Ball website and then go to their "inspiration" site and select "hallway", they have quite a few that are similar to yours. I found one that used Wimbourne White and Manor House Gray with a black and white checkerboard floor that looked lovely, another one that used Mizzle, one with Brinjal under the chair rail for something dramatic (which, from the look of your samples, you might like)..... Anyway, if I was clever-er I would be able to link them to here, but I'm not, so peruse them and see if there is anything that suits. Enjoy!

Hi, Did you buy two of the Porcelanosa sinks as in the photo or are you installing just the one unit? Are you looking to keep your original toilet? As it looks similar to the one in the picture of your new sinks. Maybe a free standing bath with a metallic base to complement your taps. Add wainscoting - in dark colours to show off the statement sinks - either keeping the colour above plain or adding stunning wallpaper for extra zing. Add some shutter/blinds to your window to give a stylish finish (either half way or full length) Where your sink is going I would add a huge mirror. Also put in a wetroom style shower rather than the boxed in cubicle you currently have - this will add fluidity to the room and open up the space so it is one. What a pretty room! How ornate do you want to go? How about a dado rail and panelling (look up "faux wainscoting" for a budget friendly DIY solution) in the same colour as the door frames and skirting, to go really old school and elegant? That sort of look suits a statement armchair perched in a corner. As others have said, that floral wallpaper/fabric is great in a bedroom (I think). In an adult bedroom, I'd go a bit nuts with this stuff, frankly. Easy enough to change if you decide to tone it down a bit. If you do it above some classic panelling, it would ameliorate the look. Otherwise, perhaps cool rustic luxury. Matt black lamps, brass, white marble, a stripped brick internal wall (messy but cheap to do). By the way, I am exactly in the same boat as you. We are just finishing the renovation of a Victorian house, and our master suite is the bit that needs to be finished. If it helps, I am genuinely torn between the two looks below. My wife prefers option one - she is a US east coaster, used to funky lofts and DC/NY chic. I like option two - I'm British and grew up with friends whose parents had rambling period country houses full of clutter and slightly bonkers decor, with the odd Spaniel ambling around. Option one: go cool. Option two: go big.
