Thanks all for input...been away for a while hence the delay in commenting! I just couldn't live with the pink in the end...it seems to dull out in the photos... Any way I've purchased some new baroque style frames in silver/golds and a couple in flat grey (matching the tiles and grout colouring) and will update that wall colour with something darker and more opulent....not sure on what colour yet. On the bright side my mum loves the concept and colouring so stole it for her picture wall and her style is slot more modern anyway so I think it will look really playful and add a bit of needed colour. Additionally my 6 year loved the pinks so the mirror frame wall idea is moving into her room (her room is already a chic shadow grey with white and accents in pink) - it will be more radial based around a larger central mirror and with a bigger space to play with should work a lot better. Alls well that ends well!

Hi Craig, I'd perhaps wait until you have the mirror and flooring in before deciding on any wall art. You'll have a much better idea of how the space looks then. However, I think your idea of something modern in white/cream would look best. Alternatively you could also have something 3 dimensional which would add some texture into the room. No? No sideboard? No floor lamp? Perhaps it would be a good idea to have the photos all printed in black and white and on canvas. Fairly large format. Or all in black and white and in silver or white frames. I would personally ignore the different ceiling height and just hang them in a straight line or in a neat group. The centre of the frames should be at about eye level. That means that in a hallway they would hang higher up than in a lounge or dining room.

Thank you everyone for the thoughts so far! Totally agree on the radiator cover - I've been trying to find something nice and slim so it doesn't block the door too much... and, as you can see, we are already struggling to find a door mat that will fit in the space (very restricted on materials as rubber will mark the fingerblock and anything non-grip is too slippery). Here's a slightly different view to show why I didn't put a mirror over the radiator... We could move the light switch, but need to keep our costs down where possible. Putting a mirror above the switch is too high (I think?). The random bits of art are to hide holes in the wall that I've not filled yet. :-D
