which layout do you prefer? Help!

Which is the better layout? The bed is velvet and has a tall headboard.

Necessities for the room are a Double bed, 2 x 1m wardrobes and a dressing table. The Plans don’t show but there will also be 1 Small bedside table & a Wall hung TV opposite the bed.

The second layout is much better Feng Shui. The 640mm clearance around the left side of the bed might prove to be a nuisance over time though.

When the bed is opposite the door you get a much better first impression of the room

Definitely the first one because you can operate it with one had and keep the selector arm at the 'warm' position for convenience. With the second one you have to use two hands to mix the warm and cold. Too fussy (and old fashioned!). It's not a matter of style (both are gorgeous) but ease of function.

Hi Emmeline. yes you can get it to look like pretty much any type of marble. I did a lot of research as my husband will go mad if I change them again - this is the third time - and I decided to go for something really durable. In the course of looking into it all sorts of comments and advice emerged - and I have friend who have marble and granite so feedback from them as well. I know that you can seal but really I just want something I can wipe and not worry about.

Are you having different coloured unit doors, that is either grey or cream with the dark blue? if so, then as the cream is a very pale cream, I think it would look good with the dark blue and be warmer. It isn’t that sickly buttercream cream. Blue and grey can look cold. I’ve seen lots of people on Houzz asking how to warm up a grey kitchen! I also would choose a wood effect floor in a nice warm tone - porcelein is great and very hardwearing. it also comes in a huge range of colours from palest white to deepest walnut. About 950mm but you could get away with 900 or maybe 850mm. You could push the bed a small distance towards the window if necessary. You could also try swapping the wardrobe and the dressing table to give yourself more room but that depends on how far your chair/stool projects into the walkthrough.

Oh, I’m quite a way off that then. I could the push over slightly, perhaps another 10cm? But not too much more as the TV will be opposite the bed. I think I prefer the wardrobes separate with a dressing table built in the middle

I agree, I think walking in & seeing the bed first is best but I’m concerned about the measurements not working. I could get probably 75cm maximum between wardrobe & bed…

In an ideal world! 750mm should work. It's just a walkthrough after all. I also prefer the wardrobes and the dressing table the way you have laid them out. I was just trying to explore all the options.
