My apartment is extremely compact. i hope to have an open concept kitchen without much hacking to existing water piping to reduce renovation cost. Yet i prefer to create space by hacking the kitchen floor. i bake alot and plan to have a tall cabinet for the oven but advice even so far was to have the oven below the hob. Please help with designing an open concept kitchen with a suggestion of where to put the oven. sink and hob too. i am perfectly fine without the hood. thanks alot.

Hi Fehime, Lay-out is better regarding the position of the island and the the way the tall units frame the hob area. A couple of small changes; I would have a hidden extractor, either telescopic or canopy. this will really help keep those clean lines most clients look for in a modern kitchen concept. Also is there a need for so many taps? If you are looking for a tap which is boiling (98 degrees) filtered and hot and cold may I suggest the Abode tap, beautiful design and only one tap. The breakfast bar I would suggest, rather than adding another stepped up worktop, just run the existing worktop 300/350mm out to the same distance it is now. Also by having the worktop one level it will be more useful prep and serving area. These small changes will still give you all the elements you want just simplified.
