Open concept for small kitchen

My apartment is extremely compact. i hope to have an open concept kitchen without much hacking to existing water piping to reduce renovation cost. Yet i prefer to create space by hacking the kitchen floor. i bake alot and plan to have a tall cabinet for the oven but advice even so far was to have the oven below the hob.

Please help with designing an open concept kitchen with a suggestion of where to put the oven. sink and hob too. i am perfectly fine without the hood.

Wow yes lots to waken up to and I'm so grateful for the help! Thanks so much! I tried mforr to find one o those room colouring things for a shop here in the uk and whilt you can do it with dulux paint brand, it didnt seem to like my iPad so need to get onto it on my laptop! Having slept on it I'm thinking I like the idea of doing the kitchen only in colour, and then having highlights of the colour in the LR with cushions perhaps. We considered curtains too but I'm not sure if it would crowd the LR. We are sure that the coffee table is too big also, but I love it (it has a glass top and we can present things in the drawer below). We also have no dining table so this is our only space for setting out food! I'm still liking the green, but the yellow goes well too. We have a tea/coffee jars on our kitchen work top (might be just visible in the pictures) which are green yellow and grey, so if I bring these along to the DIY shop they could colour match those for me. (Along with the list you sent me too mforr!) I will def be back on to show you all the results!! :)

Hi Mewlz, I agree with OnePlan, defining the zones is the key. If the kitchen has not be done yet I would consider too a hidden kitchen or a more 'living room' kitchen design. I have to say that IKEA is great for give you a flavour of a multifunction compact living, just browsing the images of the dressed open spaces will give you plenty of inspiration. I attached a couple of option thinking to play with what's on your plan at the moment. If you do have an empty space (no kitchen or fittings) then we can really get more creative though. The table for 6 seem a bit large for the size of the property. Keep all in proportion with the space when choosing furniture. However if you do need a large table you may want to consider a foldable one. I also like floor to ceiling units. It’s very fashionable and a larder unit holds a wealth of items. Having said that in a small kitchen sometimes it’s a case of tall units versus worktop space. I‘d be tempted to go with the single oven and microwave under the stairs as you suggest, giving you another tall unit for fridge and freezer and another for washer and dryer. Where you have the corner pantry unit you could have a 900 L shaped base unit and this would give you more worktop space around the corner. You might have to jiggle the size of the tall unit on the end though to get it in if that’s possible (obviously you have the stair drop here, so I’m not sure on the measurements even though you’ve allowed 800).
