Wow yes lots to waken up to and I'm so grateful for the help! Thanks so much! I tried mforr to find one o those room colouring things for a shop here in the uk and whilt you can do it with dulux paint brand, it didnt seem to like my iPad so need to get onto it on my laptop! Having slept on it I'm thinking I like the idea of doing the kitchen only in colour, and then having highlights of the colour in the LR with cushions perhaps. We considered curtains too but I'm not sure if it would crowd the LR. We are sure that the coffee table is too big also, but I love it (it has a glass top and we can present things in the drawer below). We also have no dining table so this is our only space for setting out food! I'm still liking the green, but the yellow goes well too. We have a tea/coffee jars on our kitchen work top (might be just visible in the pictures) which are green yellow and grey, so if I bring these along to the DIY shop they could colour match those for me. (Along with the list you sent me too mforr!) I will def be back on to show you all the results!! :)

It could be an idea to demarcate the kitchen using the floor, rather than by using furniture - the easiest and cheapest way would be a rug of suitable material. If the area is demarcated there isn't as pressing a need to put something there, like an island or table. It also preserves the sense of open space - you said the room was small overall, so it's important not to crowd it with furniture. Then the furniture you do have can be spaced out, so you can have a larger sitting area. A round table would be good in the corner by the door. Round because as Minnie said it takes less space. A glass table would be best as it is see-through and preserves a sense of space. Round is also good because it adds softness - the rest of the room is going to have square or rectangular lines to it. The dining table could also be the desk. An alternative would be a coffee table in the sitting area that converts into a desk - if you google "coffee table and desk" you will see some really cool examples. I don't know how to copy and post the images, so you will have to search it, sorry! Corner TV - I have the same problem. I'm considering a wall mount. This saves space, but you do have to consider the wiring, and where to put digital boxes etc. Good luck!! Show us some after pics?

You have a lovely home to work with. I would say don't underestimate mirrors for making a room look twice as big. Have you considered giant mirrors, or mirroring an entire wall? How about the curved wall? I would pay attention to lighting also, as great lighting can make your home look a million dollars and more spacious. I would make a focal point with television resting on a gorgeous storage cabinet, place wall picture frames on wall where tv is placed, this will draw attention to the art and cabinet rather than the tv itself. I would get highback armchairs and use them for both dining and lounge seating with a sofa. I like those Victorian card tables on wheels, that fold up, multipurpose. Only buy furniture you absolutely love, don't follow trends, follow your heart, after all you want to feel good at home. Don't be half-hearted follow your dreams, be confident. When you fully execute your interior passion you'll be happy and others who come to your home will sense you and credit your style as being authentic, true to you and they will love it as much as they love you.

Congratulations on your new Spanish property purchase! Two suggestions to help you plan your space: 1. mark on your plan exactly where ALL water and gas supplies are, to help with planning your kitchen. It can also be useful to mark the positions of other key services - electrics, boiler / heating, etc. 2. cut out pieces of paper to the same scale and shape as all the items of furniture and kitchen units that you want, and play around with them - take photos each time you reach a result that you like. From my experience of working as an architect in Spain the building regulations and permit requirements are quite different to the UK. Things like gas runs are controlled differently and water, especially drainage, are also dealt with differently. Speak with a local arquitecto or arquitecto tecnico, to help you assess what can and can't be repositioned. It looks to me as though moving your kitchen to the right hand side of the plan where you have "dining room area?" marked may use the space better, but this might not work in relation to the services needed.
