Hi Aggie and Dytecture, I love the Dytecture kitchen photo but think the ceiling is higher than 11.5 ft. In my case I have concrete beam/ lintel at 8 ft height so if I put sink below the window then the window height is not more than 4.5 ft from the sink top up to the beam . I have kept window width 5.5 ft to have some space in the corners. All other windows in the house are 8ft tall from floor. Please suggest . All ideas are welcome.

I'm not sure if they're more fashionable? My personal preference is typically rectangular. Tiles laid in a grid pattern means you get a long grout line and leads your eye onwards so makes the space feel bigger. Laying them diagonally means you still get the long grout line but you don't "see" the edges so it feels bigger still. Large tiles are generally much better to create the feeling of space, less grout lines so less busy. It does mean your floor needs to be really level though. You also need to be careful tHat it doesn't become busy by the number of cuts needed for the tiles though!

Here's an idea ,its some think that i would do if i had a dilemma like you, how about frosting the quarter window on the top right hand corner, then block the window with timber frame and plaster board, the next process would be plastering it, if the plasterer is good they would be able buff in the plaster to the existing wall, by doing this you will get a square window from the inside of the house

Thanks @User – that would be ideal but sadly not an option with the track we're already using for the sheers. A second track in front could work potentially but I imagine we'd end up with the two curtain layers overlapping. @Daisy England I like the sound of being a person who has "winter curtains"! It would possibly be the most cost effective option too. Something to consider for sure.
