This kitchen is a wheelchair accessible kitchen designed by Adam Thomas of Design Matters. With height-adjustable worktops, acrylic doors and brushed steel handles for comfortable use with impaired grip. The two Corian worktops are fully height adjustable and have raised edges on all four sides to contain hot spills and reduce the risk of injury. A single Neff oven with slideaway door, and a combination microwave oven have been specified for this kitchen. Each oven is teamed with a slimline pullout shelf that is faced with stainless steel to make it heat-resistant. The existing house was poorly planned after a many renovations. The entry to the house was through a verandah that had previously been enclosed and the cottage had multiple unconnected living spaces with pour natural light and connection to the beautiful established gardens. With some simple internal changes the renovation allowed removal of the enclosed verandah and have the entry realigned to the central part of the house. Existing living areas where repurposed as sleeping spaces and a new living wing established to house a master bedroom and ensuite upstairs. The new living wing gives you an immediate sense of balance and calm as soon as you walk into the double-height living area. The new wing area beautifully captures filtered light on the north and west, allowing views of the established garden on all sides to enter the interior spaces.

This bright open-planed kitchen uses a smart mix of materials to achieve a contemporary classic look. A built in sink and a single adjustable barazza tap maintains a minimal look. Matt Lacquered cabinetry provides a subtle contrast whilst wooden effect laminate carcass and shelving breaks up the look.
