Eclectic Brown, Grey Living Room Ideas and Designs

This study room was created by removing a wall and replacing it with Crittall style folding glass doors opening up the space making it feel much larger. We built wall to wall, floor to ceiling bookcases for the client's many books and created a faux fireplace painted to look like black marble. A large white silk lamp shade hangs from the ceiling. A Gallery wall of art work and a mid century burnt orange wingback chair complete the room.

This Margate apartment is set within a Grade II listed converted chapel, dating back to 1811. The high ceilings and loft-style columns allowed us to be playful with the scale, so that we could create a feeling of space. We selected mainly vintage furniture and a fresh colour palette – designed to give a feel of being transported to a sunny holiday in Ibiza or Mexico – despite the lack of natural light. The use of painted arches throughout the apartment are a nod to the Chapel’s original arched windows. The shape is carried through the apartment; from the scalloped splashback in the kitchen, to the marble detailing in the bathroom.

Partnering with our clients at the start of this project, our team were gifted the opportunity to turn this Georgian town house into a family Pied à Terre. Respecting the architecture while pursuing the brief to create a modern, chic aesthetic, we focused on balancing day to day requirements in a period Georgian setting. Our brief was to design a home that felt instantly welcoming, immediately immersive and lovable. A space that family and friends would love to spend time in. With a largely blank canvas we had the chance to be as creative as we wanted, integrating beautiful works of art that add interest and luxury into each area. With an eye on art curation and the pursuit of warmth and comfort, we were delighted with the end result. A home that is welcoming, a space that is practical as well as beautiful, a house that offers both design and comfort.
