About Us

Based in central London and The Cotswolds, our small core team, headed by Stephen Fletcher and backed-up by the broad-based skills of the consultants we work with, offers a highly personalised service. We are always happy to meet potential clients to discuss their ideas and offer out thoughts on how best to make their project a reality. Whilst we have a number of repeat clients, we realise that many of our first-time clients are not used to the building process which can seem overwhelmingly daunting and complex at times. With our friendly hands-on approach, we not only guide our clients through the various stages, but also endeavour to make the whole experience as enjoyable and rewarding as possible.

Stephen re-designed the ground floor of our Edwardian terraced house in Muswell Hill to give us a beautiful contemporary extended living space. Throughout Stephen was super helpful & efficient in managing the project and working with us from the initial drawings, to working with the building regulators, to the tender process and site meetings with the builder. Stephen was very responsive and he gave us good advice throughout. We would highly recommend him.

I have worked with Stephen on quite a few projects over the last twenty years. Fresh ideas every time. I’m usually one of the last to leave yet get to meet the clients at the beginning of the development, clients I meet love the way Stephen works, honest, fresh and totally up to date with tech, innovations and also keeping the period of buildings on key. Stephen carried out a full refurbishment of a grade II listed two bedroom flat in West London including applying for planning permission. His attention to detail, design and client services were impeccable. He is a first rate professional.

I was absolutely delighted when Stephen agreed to take on the major project of adding a mansard roof extension to my roof terrace and totally renovating the existing flat. For much of the time I was away from London because of the lockdown, but Stephen was brilliant at keeping in touch via email and video link and ensured everything kept going smoothly. I was extremely impressed by his vision for how the flat could be changed, his imaginative ideas, his attention to detail, and his eye for symmetry. He was always calm and supportive when it came to dealing with the management company and inevitable hiccough along the way and provided an easy line of communication between me and the constructor. I'm extremely pleased with the finished product and have no hesitation in highly recommending Stephen Fletcher Architects.

Stephen is a very good, methodical, organized and professional architect with a lot of experience in London residential renovations. He helped on all fronts including planning permissions, consultants, choosing and buying materials and fixtures.... Nothing was ever too much and a pleasure to work with. Always coming up with good solutions. He also did a good job surveying the project and construction. Not terribly adventurous design wise, but that was fine with us. His weakest point was lighting. Highly recommended.

We first came across Stephen when we saw a flat on the market that we loved the design of. We asked the agent to let us know who the architect had been and so we met Stephen. We engaged Stephen to turn two single floor apartments in a large white stucco Notting Hill town house on a communal garden square into a 3 bedroom maisonette. We were completely delighted with the work he did for us - we loved the process (he's fastidious), the symmetry, management of deadlines & contractors, the finishes and most of all, the overall design. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Stephen is a wonderful architect. We have completed four major projects with him, and on all of them his work was exemplary. He was always on time and was frequently prompting us to complete an assignment to keep the projects moving forward. He was excellent at liaison with builders and other workers, and worked very hard at problem solving when problems arose. His designs maximized use of space available, while always having in mind important visual aspects - with stunning results. I cannot recommend him too highly.

Having worked together on several high-end central London projects with Stephen has always been a pleasure. Our team supplies staircases and every project we have worked on together with Stephen has just been stunning. Stephen comes up with an idea, if it works from a staircase perspective we make it as is requested, but if something is rather difficult he is always open to discussion and looking at different options. We hired Stephen when planning the renovation of our four storey Victorian home. Stephen was recommended to us and I knew straight away on meeting him that he was the one for the job. Stephen did everything from concept design and managing the planning application to over seeing the build during the construction phase. We had a decent idea of what we wanted to achieve but Stephen's input made the world of difference to the final result in terms of getting light into the house, the general flow and the finishes used. Stephen supplied us with fantastic hand drawn sketches of each room which really helped us to visualise the finished space. Stephen is not only a skilled architect but also a pleasure to work with and I cannot recommend him enough.
