Reply to: That is an Olive tree (Olea europea) It would be a good choice if you want year round privacy as it is evergreen. If you want more interest if you are in a warm part of the uk you might consider a Mimosa (Acacia dealbata) which has yellow flowers in late winter, but can get quite large. A Photinia is another option which is also evergreen, but has the added bonus of white flowers and the young leaves are a bronzy colour.
