I like the combination of wood and carpet. I like carpet in master, but I do not want to have a dirty spot in front of the master bedroom door (which is right off kitchen) and along our pathways...
maybe something like this is a solution?

This is what I want to do for Sophia's room... to remove window that opens to side yard and replace with a high window so we can put her bed along that wall.
