Reply to: Yes, we ended up doing the polished white Macaubas on the perimeters too, except for a "bar" area where we went with walnut. The walnut doesn't get heavy traffic or use. Everything else definitely does. I found a really pretty gray quartzite for the perimeters but when I tested it I found it stained and etched like crazy. The stone guys said it just hadn't been sealed, but it spooked me too much to use it. All of the gray quartz looked to grainy to me. So we went this way. Hurt the pocket book, but we truly love it.

Reply to: Hi Jenny, we went with the white macaubus on everything except the bar area, which is walnut. We LOVE it and get compliments all the time. I haven't seen the colors you are looking at, but they are pretty! The top one looks like a bit like a variation of white macaubus that we looked at (sorry it's been so long I can't remember the name). I do recall that it was also quartzite and supposed to be great, I was just looking for more of a white base. Here's a pic of our island (which has the quartzite on a dark base). Good luck!
