backyard project
private and public zones that flow together without too much hardscape, plenty of vegetation that is suitable for each spot, comfortable, accent lighting, style is eclectic blend of old world (greek, roman), mediterranean, tropical, coastal, organic with a touch of bling (like colored glass), water elements, shady retreats, oriented to not be facing the setting sun, view of backyard, privacy from driveway and front of house, as much 3 season use as possible with heating devices and fans, shelter from rain and wind as possible (pagodas are decorative elements but not great for "sheltered areas" such as seating, dining, kitchen etc.
Apparently I can’t add comments to pictures after saving to the ideabook so I’ll have to add comments here for what it is worth. I like arches and vegetation growing up walls and arches etc to soften the hardness and contrast with the stone etc. I like the idea of moving water even though I’d like to not just do a typical waterfall. I liked the “pond” with the deeper pond in it or water trickling over an organic rock surface. I like the ideas of a winding canal. I like the dusty but bright orange or salmon (but not too pink!). I like Mediterranean, tropical, beachish, organic, lush vegetation, comfortable, maintainable. I want it to be breezy in hot weather but I want the option to close off abit to hold heat in cooler weather.
