I think it would look great if all of the countertops matched the island like this picture shows. Also, the shelving/storage under the extended bar gives an idea......expand the end and build cubby storage and shelving with cabinet doors under lip to give more storage.

This is my favorite style pendant lights. Except it would be nice maybe to find them in brushed bronze to match the pulls and faucet hardware? I don't know, maybe the light copper would be a nice change of contrast.
