The project you're referring to had all existing windows replaced and lot's of new windows and doors installed. They're all aluminum clad wood windows and doors with simulated divided lites. The manufacturer was Kolbe & Kolbe, but in the intervening years I've had a problem with them standing behind their product. I no longer recommend them to clients. There are many other excellent manufacturers of aluminum clad wood windows and doors so it shouldn't be a problem finding one for your project. On a side note, I believe that steel windows are paintable as are aluminum. Not so much field paintable, but factory coated in a broad range of colors, both standard and custom. For the most authentic look I would consider painted steel windows, but they do tend to be a significantly more expensive alternative. If you're on a limited budget you will probably gravitate towards an aluminum clad wood product in the end. If you're using divided lites, be sure to select the manufacturer that produces the slimmest profile muntins... the fatter the muntins the less authentic the windows will look.
