two halves island; prep area (sink) and table area; space open under table - wood table nicely breaks the white pattern

notice the small table behind the island that acts as a breakfast nook - practical because can be removed at anytime. Alternatively, the island could have a small extension to seat around it.
Garage door style is nice/fun/orginal - skylights to bring more light

Breakfast corner (smart). Makes it easy to start your day. No breakfast area here but if you remove the sink, you could have one (extended island or table). Awesome skylights!

example of "two halves" islands with dual purpose (eat + prep) - note: we don't want the gas range on the island

Very nice kitchen layout with gas range in the center, and oven/microwave and fridge on each side (well balanced) - beautiful shelves for easy access to key elements and playing a decorative role. Notice how the sink is centered against the gas range => balanced layout

"Two halves" island - what about a "three halves" where the sink/prep area is in the middle (stone) and each side extends: one for the mini-table and the other one as breakfast nook.
The sink/prep area needs a double sink and enough space to put dirty dishes and the dish rack

Like the wood/stone mix on the island - no gas range though
