Can't help with the cost since I don't remember how much we paid for stairs but I'm attaching pictures from my built. We did white oak run between first and second floor but to save money we did painted risers in the basment.

See how the risers on the steps are the flooring material. You could do that using the new floor and leave the darker tops. This is white oak.
