I think this is what I had in my mind before we talked about going to the ceiling. Not sure if it is possible to do this height with stone??
Could we do halfway up with a back wall similar to this? Not sure I would go this route but wondering if possible.

like the front minimizing the metal - cleaner look but probably doesn't work for blowing air into room?
