This house is a great example of the style I've been trying to push you towards. It's reserved, almost black and white actually. Notice the blue windows on the porch (similar to your front door). It's refined but very simple.I added a few comments on the pics-

This is the color I would paint your house if you ever decided to ditch the aluminum.

Front door is painted but works well with the dark natural floor which is similar in color to your dark stair risers.

The natural wood looks great against the dark paint. Think how cool the butcher block would look.

This is the 'inky' color I was suggesting. It's brown-ish without all the red in it. You know, bronze.
