Kitchen Specific Ideas
If something more extravagant is not in the budget maybe a simple range hood, brass or bronze color to match hardware?
I like this range hood too, its out of the way, but nice for colonial/european style. I like being able to put some decore above it.

I like the cream cabinets and general tone of the kitchen. I don't like the range hood coming around the stove...too intrusive.
I like mix of cream and medium wood cabinets. But I would have the island be the medium wood to it wears better for a family with young kids.
I like the general traditional/french european tone of the kitchen. And of coarse the chandeliers! I'm thinking of having one over each island, but open to arrangement.
keeping room in background is the kind we would do in front of the two islands but I want it to be Very kid friendly and easy clean seating arrangement.
Maybe oval table and oval built in seats is ideal for me, but I'm not sure we have room to achieve it.

Double islands, maybe not so long though. I think ours are 6 feet?

I want the first island, closest to the stove/sink to be multipurpose like this with drawers and cabinets for specific purposes.

great pantry, but need some shelves that hold larger buckets too and room for mobile baking cart to wheel in an and out.
side cabinets for china/nice stuff would be great, but not sure if possible.
