think it’s the two tone and gloss finish that is off putting tbh! I’d look into getting something fitted, you could still keep it contemporary but sympathetic to the surroundings, it say a matte or semi satin finish on them, possible something along the lines of this??
ps if you getting rid of the light its just my thing! Lol
