The atrium could be styled as a library with dramatic floor-to-ceiling shelves. Keep uncluttered: use thick wood, flush in wall. Don't stuff with books. Create a lot of breathing space for pottery, art pieces, etc. Use golden rectangles? Combine some squares to create larger sconces for art.
