Peter you're right - straight step run looks awful. don't like the variances of the stones though and the heights. don't like the bare slope with it's stone cemetery.

rock wall at bottom of hill? imagine the river stone as the steps going down and ending at a rock wall which goes to a flag stone patio which links to the soaring patio
