Love this desk!
Instead of a railing at top of stairwell, we could do something like this (with bookshelf facing outside of stairwell, not inside as here.)
Like the idea of a bookshelf in the stairwell. Great use of otherwise wasted space.
This would look great in front of the feature wall.
Like the circular railing and cutout at the entrance.
