I love these rustic hand-scraped floors that you are choosing. Do you want to run the wood throughout the whole level or ceramic tile that looks like wood only in the kitchen?

I like the idea of this peninsula coming out from the wall. Especially if it has storage. This would be easier to fit in versus bar seating. Imagine french doors to the deck in between it and the dining room table.
