i think we need a backsplash and we can tie in the shower. Maybe use the niche tile with a pencil tile to match the floor and bench surrounding it...

so this is what it would look like without the taller backsplash to cover the faucet. My fear is that the wall would constantly get wet from washing your hands and turning off the faucet and the drywall would eventually decompose where a tile would last much longer.

I picture it to be a lot like this just I would do less and more random.

this is something that we can do for a backsplash to surround the faucet and then we can use the small subway tile on the end of the bench.
