Shoes on floor so you can easily vacuum up the mess. Seating extends enough to be able to sit despite a 30 lb back pack behind you on the hook. Like the open and closed storage options at the top and the bench with storage by the window. Cubbies by the door - NO! Whoever has the cubby by the door will get smacked by the door. That is not smart design.
Like this concept: Two travel paths so if laundry is on the floor, we can go around. Hanging rack for drying items that need to be hung up to dry. Big space for folding laundry. Individual locker storage. Would need closet for seasonal coats/items and additional shoe storage (boots, etc). Instead of refrigerator/freezer a closet would be great where we could store the vacuum, steam mop, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, dog supplies & (big bag of dog food), etc. This size room (16x25) is probably to big though.
Shoe storage shelves with shoe mats - like this! There's even space for boots! Style of the room itself is kind of boring, bench seating won't be adequate once 30 lb back packs and giant winter coats are hanging on the hooks. Also we don't need space for dog bowls/leashes. We keep all of that stuff in a basket.
I don't see this style working for us. Everyone just throws their dirty laundry on the floor. We could throw it on this giant counter BUT when clean clothes come out - where to fold them. Need to think on the best way to "store" the dirty clothes rather then heaping them on the floor until they get washed.
Really like there are locker doors to hide the mess and a separate bench to sit on to put shoes on but also requires more space so may not be a budget friendly solution. I do like the style of this room also and the transom windows that allow more light into the room especially since the lockers block a lot of light.
