Since the pantry is not a high traffic, public space, consider this as an area that might be some do it yourself. This article talks about using finished plywood and leaving the edges raw. Would give it a very nice aesthetic. Another idea is to blend powder coated metal storage with with prefabricated up cubes or units for an eclectic quaint look. Which would also offer more future flexibility

Couple ideas here: one is to make upper shelves wire or class so that we can see the contents from below Another is to make sure that we have wall space for hooks to hang aprons and towels!

Love the latter. Wicker baskets, which can be bought cheaply in bulk from the right place, may be a superior alternative to custom/installed Pull-out baskets. Just put in a large shelf area and will take care of the rest

000H, here's an idea. I wonder if we could save some dollars here by purchasing freestanding units with some shelving and countertops at a lower cost than custom carpentry for part of this room. Interesting to think about

We will need a ladder to access items near the 10 foot ceiling. Should we put the ladder in with the rail along the one wall, or just make do with a stepstool that is kept handy at all times?

Notice pull out bins, a number of drawer units, and again, the space along the floor for large items that really should sit on the floor

Tons of things here! First, notice the sideways shelving up for some long items, E. G. Cookie sheets, large plates, boards. Next, there are pull out bins for some items, and the wine racks. How are if maybe higher up, but it's a great idea to build this into the pantry. Finally, notice the bookshelf. We have a lot of cookbooks, And will not be able to keep all of them active in the kitchen at all times. We need a cookbook library

Notice the area near the floor. The first shelf is raised with space below to stow things like boxes or 20 pound bags of rice. Something to consider. We do want to have floor storage area
