I don't like the colors, but I like the storage in the island

Brian: The color scheme here seems very dark red to me. I like lighter better.

Brian: is that storage under the counter top seating area? Could be useful.

Not a fan of all the blue, but I like the cupboards and the think the shape of the room could work.

Brian: Note the microwave above the cooktop. This is space efficient, but means we can't have a really good ventilation hood above the cook top. What is the right choice for us here?

Elizabeth: This is interesting to me because I feel like it could create an opening between our kitchen and living room. I like the idea of having a counter to sit at. Brian: likewise. I wonder though if we're too constrained in thinking about where the kitchen would work in the existing layout? For example, I'm assuming a wall in the same position as the wall here, but that's not a requirement.
