love the penninsula done this way with the rough hewn floors. Ting's table could work here too.
stairs done in two tone color. white back stop with wood topped stairs.
love covering the fridge doors.
counter top with an over hang for stools. I would still want storage space on both sides.
glass cabinet doors everywhere.
concrete counters could be interesting!
