I think the patio with bench seating on 2 sides of the fire pit works really well. The grey granite boulders will work well as retention in some of the upper areas and save cost over walls as well. I like it!

This is just an initial concept, but I really think it makes sense to utilize the upper space as a nice open patio for dining or other furniture. The lower patio help blend into the slope.

Stepped down beds? That is so funny. I was jut looking at similar terraced beds a few minutes ago. I really like the idea of some sort of terrace on you side yard slope. That is an interesting material.
