We also love the idea of the pergola over the french doors...maybe we can put in place whatever would be needed to do this in the future if we can't afford it now.

The detail on this siding... We were thinking to do this on the tower and under both porch overhangs...front and side. It seems to be four rows at a 4" reveal and then one at a 2" reveal ....maybe? Also, we like the raw wood pillars in the entry way and would like to recreate this on all our "porches" and for the potential pergola.
