This is the kitchen I like for a modern house. I would change the cabinet color to gray or mahoganey, and the granite would be some type of shiny color dark paired with lighter floor, or light paired with darker floor. I love the layout and the cabinet style though. Two other things I would do...I would have my friend add some designs into a couple of the cabinet doors and then maybe make one side a decorated glass door, instead of all closed.
